2.3.1
ME Programmes
Selection is based on the GATE marks
only.
Tie Breaking: In the case of candidates with equal GATE
marks, their performance in the qualifying examination would be used to resolve
the tie.
2.3.2
M Tech Programmes
(a) Electronics Design & Technology:
After screening
based on the GATE marks, an aptitude test and interview will be conducted between
18 and 20 April 2011.
Selection will be based on performance in the aptitude test and interview.
(b) Computational Science:
After screening
based on the GATE marks, an aptitude test and interview will be conducted between
18 and 20 April 2011.
Selection will be based on performance in the aptitude test and interview.
(c) Climate Science:
After screening
based on the GATE marks, an aptitude test and interview will be conducted between
18 and 20 April 2011.
Selection will be based on performance in the aptitude
test and interview.
(d) Instrumentation:
Selection is
based on the GATE marks only.
(e) Transportation and Infrastructure
Engineering:
After screening
based on the GATE marks, an aptitude test and interview will be conducted between
18 and 20 April 2011.
Selection will be based on performance in the aptitude test and interview.
2.3.3
M Des Programme
After screening based on GATE / CEED
marks, a design aptitude test and interview will be conducted at the Institute,
between 21 and 22 April 2011.
Selection will be based on performance in the design aptitude test and
interview.
2.6.4 Notes
(a)
Candidates
short-listed for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview will be
posted on IISc website https://admissions-august.iisc.ac.in at least 2 weeks in advance Such candidates can
take a print-out of the interview letters and make necessary arrangements for
attending the interview. No separate communication will be sent to you by post.
(b)
Candidates
called for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview have to make their
own arrangements for travel and accommodation etc.
(c)
Candidates
called for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview should bring with
them attested copies of all their transcripts (marks cards from SSLC or
equivalent onwards, degree certificate of the qualifying examination, etc.) and
produce them before the interview committee, failing which, they will not be
interviewed.
(d)
Candidates
belonging to the SC/ST/OBC(non creamy layer) category
should bring the original caste/tribe certificate, issued by a competent
authority for purposes of verification. OBC candidates belonging to non creamy
layer will be required to produce the original certificate issued on or after
January 1st 2011 by a competent authority.
(e)
Candidates
belonging to the Physically Handicapped category and Kashmiri-Migrants should
produce the original of the appropriate certificates, issued as per Government
of India rules.
(f)
The
offer letter for the selected candidates will be posted on IISc
website https://admissions-august.iisc.ac.in during the third week of June
2011. They can download the offer letter
and make necessary arrangements including payment of fees etc. No separate
communication will be sent to you by post.
(g)
Candidates
admitted to ME, M Tech, M Des and M.Mgt programmes should report to the Institute for completing
admission formalities on 27.07.2011. The session commences on 01.08.2011.
(h)
At
the time of joining, candidates should have completed all the requirements for
the award of the qualifying degree including all examinations, dissertation
projects, viva-voce, etc.
(i)
Only
candidates who produce all the mark sheets and degree certificates
(original/provisional) issued by the University Authority will be given regular
admission.
(j)
Candidates
who are awaiting results but have completed all formalities for the award of a
degree should produce at the time of joining, a Course-Completion Certificate,
issued by the Head of the institution (The Principal/Registrar). Such
candidates will be given only provisional admission, which will be regularized
on their producing all the marks sheets and
degree certificates (original, or provisional)etc., issued by the
University Authority on or before 31
October 2011, failing which, the provisional admission stands cancelled.
(k)
Candidates
who are given provisional admission are eligible for a scholarship only on
regularization of admission (on production of the required documents). They
will be paid a scholarship with retrospective effect, i.e., from the date of
joining.
